Alan is a life-long geek and musician. He’s the author of Doctor Who’s Greatest Hits: A Guide to the Best Stories From Time and Space (kOZMIC Press, 2015) and Star Trek's Greatest Hits: A Guide to the Best Stories From the Final Frontier (kOZMIC Press, 2017). He's a contributing author to More Doctor Who and Philosophy (Open Court Press, 2015) edited by Courtland Lewis, and Outside In: The Next Generation (ATB Press, 2017) edited by Robert Smith?. He’s the founder of the Doctor Who fan club, the Atlanta Gallifreyans, and co-founder in 2005 of a Doctor Who convention, TimeGate (www.timegatecon.org).As a drummer and percussionist he’s played in numerous orchestras, jazz combos, folk groups and rock bands, including a KISS tribute band. He’s been a KISS fan since 1977, a Saturday Night Live fan since 1978, a Star Trek fan since 1982, a Doctor Who fan since 1983, and a fan of sci-fi movies from such an early age that he’d never be able to put a date to it.
